How does the RUT deduction work for cleaning and other services?

When you hire a registered company for domestic services such as cleaning, you can take advantage of the RUT deduction. If you’re eligible, the state covers half of the labour cost directly on your invoice—no extra steps for you.

We manage the administration with the Swedish Tax Agency, and your invoice clearly shows the RUT deduction so you always know exactly what you’re paying for.

RUT and ROT are combined and capped at SEK 75,000 per person and year. The ROT portion may not exceed SEK 50,000.

Which services are covered?

RUT applies to household-related services. The deduction only covers labour, not materials or travel. Most of our services are RUT-eligible:

  • Home cleaning
  • Deep cleaning
  • Move-out cleaning
  • Window cleaning
  • Moving services and packing assistance
  • Simple handyman tasks (e.g., installing curtain rods)
  • Laundry services
  • Ironing
  • Gardening
