How does the ROT deduction work for renovation and repairs?
When you hire an F-tax registered company for repair, maintenance, or renovation of your home, you can take advantage of the ROT deduction. This means the state covers 30% of the labor cost.
We handle all administration with the Swedish Tax Agency, and the deduction is applied directly to your invoice so you can easily see what you're paying.
RUT and ROT are combined and capped at SEK 75,000 per person and year. The ROT portion may not exceed SEK 50,000.
What work is covered by ROT deduction?
ROT applies to repairs, maintenance, and renovation (reconstruction) of homes. The deduction only covers labor costs, not materials. Here are examples of ROT-eligible services:
- Roof cleaning and roof treatment
- Roof painting
